Mason's zoo field trip

Me and my group. Mason's teacher gave me some seriously naughty boys! It was so hard to keep track of them all day!!

Mase loved playing at the park in the zoo...he would have been happy to just do that!

Up close & personal with a peacock. :)

Yes, he measures up to the "juvenile" gorilla. :)

Kindergarteners have a really hard time walking around the zoo ALL day long! He was so done at this point...and we were only about 1/2 way thru!

Ya gotta get a picture with the tiger statue!

Mase and one of his best buddies checkin' out the rhinos!

LOVE that baby elephant!

LOVE that boy!!

The tigers were actually out and about today. It was a good thing, since most of the zoo animals are no longer & there just isn't that much to see anymore. Besides the giraffes, tigers, elephants and rhinos I don't think we saw many animals at all. It was a really fun day though and I'm so glad I got to spend it with my Mase! :)

Not quite sure...

Do these pictures even need words? Other than, "Katey was behind this."

Katey's first Activity Days

What a way to start Activity Days! Katey just turned 8 and is now invited to join the girls her age twice a month for some fun activities! The first one was a "Recognition Night" for the girls and their moms. They got to do our hair and makeup and Katey was in heaven! She lives for this kind of stuff! At first she started doing my hair crazy, but not TOO crazy...once she started getting attention for the craziness, she really went wild! Next came the makeup and she went to town again...this time with the full on giggles! :)

I decided I had a choice to make...either hide so no one could see me or just go all out & let Katey have fun. :) Keep in mind that none of the other girls did this to their moms. They curled their moms hair and did normal makeup. So, it was just me looking SO fabulous! :) People were taking videos and pictures of me and having a great time!!

I kind of scared my little kids when I got home. Soph wouldn't look at me at first. :)

I must say, Katey has a great career ahead of her! :) My favorite part of the nite was when we got to talk about our girls. Some moms chose to talk about things their girls are struggling with, but I chose to talk about how great Katey is. :) She is such a great helper and she is my buddy. She would go shopping and get pedicures with me every day! :) I love that girl!!

So lucky indeed!

My friend just did a blog post about how lucky she is. It made me think about how lucky I am. Truly the luckiest girl on the planet...well, except maybe for Sophey. Here are some pictures of what a lucky little girl she is. :) Here she is picking on Mason (who was smiling and laughing until he saw the camera).

Here she is watching the kids play outside. Once they see her in the window, they stop what they're doing and come running to entertain her.

SO CUTE!! :)

Perhaps no one loves Sophey more than Hayden does. He nicknamed her "boots" the other day and it's so cute to hear him call for her. He can get kind of rough with her, you know...the way the big kids get rough with him...but he totally adores her.

Hopefully they'll always adore each other. :)

This one is my favorite! Ryan is so grown up...I mean, he's almost 11 and all...but he will do anything for Sophey! She was just looking out the window while he was watching t.v. in the same room. The next thing I knew, he was right by her side playing with her. I love my kiddos!!

Katey's birthday cont...

Sunday, May 2nd was Katey's actual birthday. We had Grandpa Craig, Grandma Carrolyn and Mollie over for dinner. Mollie is leaving for the summer and won't be here for Katey's baptism next month when we'll celebrate with the rest of the family.

This is what Mom and Dad gave her...

...but Grandma's present was WAY better...

$10 and a purse full of prizes!

Happy Birthday Katey!!

Oh my Mase...he has been SUCH a good boy lately! He tucks himself into bed every night right at 9:00 because he knows it's bedtime. At some point in the night (EVERY night) he migrates to the couch and gets out several blankets (even though he doesn't use them as covers). We find him in some pretty odd places, but this one had to be my favorite. :)

Because I'm NOT completely worthless

Have you ever felt completely worthless? Have you ever thought to yourself, "This world would be a better place without me?" Well, that is how someone made me feel recently. It sucks. It is a dark place to be and those are awful feelings to feel. The sad part is, I totally believed all of it. I am not a cryer. I don't cry on purpose. I am an "ugly" cryer and I avoid it at all cost. Well, I bawled uncontrollably for HOURS yesterday. I felt wretched. If you have felt that way or are feeling that way now, I am sorry. It just plain sucks. I normally don't feel those things. I am a happy person who can make the best of most things that come my way. But, yesterday I felt like someone punched me in the gut. My chest was tight, I couldn't breathe, I couldn't stop crying. The worst part of it all was that I knew it was my fault for letting them make me feel that way. I still couldn't help it though.

Luckily I had a field trip to go on today that forced me to put it behind me and get out of bed...feeling worthless and all. I told myself that I wasn't going to talk to anyone because all I do is irritate people. I wasn't going to be loud and obnoxious and say dumb things to make people laugh. I was going to sit back and just be quiet as to not offend or annoy anyone. Guess what? I learned that is impossible for me to do. I was late getting to the school on purpose because I just wanted to get on the bus and sit by myself and not have to socialize. Well, a cute mom came and sat right next to me. I could tell she needed a friend and I just couldn't help myself. Before I knew it I was making jokes about the cute little old lady bus driver (Millie) and the teen heart throb picture she had on her mirror. I CAN'T HELP IT! It must be some kind of personality disorder that I have.

It's actually Chris' fault for wrapping his arms around me and telling me he loves me. He knew exactly what I was feeling. He got the same emails I got and was upset by them too. He told me how great he thinks I am and how he couldn't make sense out of it either. It's also my kids' fault for sensing that I was upset and being super nice to me. They make me so happy. Even when they make me frustrated, I can't help being happy. It's also my fault for having friends that care about me. Even when I don't want to be cared about. See how many people there are to blame? :)

So, anyways, I decided that the haters can do what they want, say what they want, believe what they want and feel what they want. I can't be a part of it any longer. It is going to be a painful process to eliminate that kind of hate in my life. Especially when it was uncalled for. So, I reactivated my facebook account and did some friend auditing (with more to come). I turned my phones back on. I finally feel like the world is a better place even if I AM in it still. :) Thanks to you, my fellow bloggers (and/or blog stalkers...you know who you are...) for letting me vent to you. Thanks for making me feel like I'm not completely worthless. You will never know how much that means to me and how glad I am that I didn't delete my blog and crawl back into bed to never come out again.

Katey's field trip

Katey had a super fun field trip today! We got to go to the Energy Solutions Arena (although I still prefer to call it the Delta Center). Katey had a great time goofing off and being with her friends! :)

Karli and Katey sitting on the front row under the basket...too bad we don't really have those seats! :)

The tour guide was being super funny about the kids being on the floor...they had to take off their shoes and everything.

We did eventually talk her into letting them onto the middle of the floor for a great photo op. The workers were putting the vinyl "playoff" signs on the floor while we were there.

Sitting in the "players seats".

We couldn't go into the locker room because apparently stuff has turned up missing after field trips too many times...but we did get to go in the "Hot Rod Media Center". It was a conference room. Apparently the kids were supposed to be excited about it...but since they couldn't care less about Hot Rod (or the media for that matter) it wasn't all that impressive.

We got to go up into the "party rooms"...on one side it had a cool view of downtown, on the other side it had a cool view of the arena. It would be so fun to have a party there!

Next stop...the Clark Planetarium. Katey and Camden doing the weather forecast.

Karli, Katey, Hannah, Madison & Lauren on the moon. :)

Me & Katey on the moon. Thanks for inviting me to go Princess! :)

MELTDOWN

I have a firm belief that everyone is entitled to a meltdown. I am having one now and taking it very seriously. I deleted my facebook account (again), I'm not answering my phones or emails. I actually went to delete my blog, but just couldn't. (Although I have deleted some of my "readers".) I wish life had a delete button sometimes. I would use it right about now. I just need some time off from the drama in my life. I have been on the very edge of a total meltdown for a while and the last straw was not placed on the camel's back, it was thrown in my face. I don't think I can ever fully recover. So, if you are one of my 3 friends, I hope you don't take any of this personally.

Katey's 8th Birthday!!

Katey had a fun birthday party! (Even though she wasn't going to have a party since she went on a trip for her birthday!) She had about 30 girls on her invitation list...we had to narrow it down to friends she has played with recently and girls from her class that would feel left out otherwise.

We made these yummy (and cute) rainbow cupcakes!

Katey and her friends waiting anxiously for Dad to get back from picking up pizza!

My cute new tray (that I made) came in handy...more than once...

The cute rainbow cupcake...even though this picture doesn't do it justice!

LOVE that birthday girl!! :)

They were supposed to watch a movie but just couldn't sit still...so, they went outside to play instead! :) It was a fun party and Katey is lucky to have so many great friends!
